from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Folque is a Norwegian folk rock band . It was founded in 1973 by Morten Bing , Jørn Jensen , Eilif Amundsen , Lisa Helljesen , Espen Løvstad , Trond Øverland and Trond Villa . The previous project, founded in 1972, was initially called “Brød & Vin” (bread and wine), but was renamed Folque in the spring of 1973 after more musicians and traditional instruments had been added to the ensemble.

The band broke up in 1984, but performed live again in 1994 and 2004.

Their musical style is related to that of the French Malicorne and the British Steeleye Span .

With the exception of the “Stormkast” CD, Folque's albums were released in LP format, the first three albums were re-released on CD.
