The Fund for Advice and Support for Immigrants (Immigrant Fund) was founded in 1971 by the City of Vienna and the social partners (Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Vienna; Austrian Trade Union Federation; Association of Austrian Industry, Regional Group Vienna; Vienna Chamber of Commerce) in 1971 with the aim To be able to provide living space quickly and unbureaucratically to people who want to immigrate to Vienna from home and abroad. In 2017, the area of responsibility and name were changed. As Mein Wien-Apartment , the fund for temporary living in Vienna helps people in precarious living situations. The fund currently manages around 1,600 apartments in its own and around 2,200 apartments in jointly managed buildings at a total of 28 locations. The headquarters of the fund and the advice center are located at Schlachthausgasse 29 (U-3, Schlachthausgasse station) in Vienna's 3rd district, Landstrasse.
