Free society of lovers of Russian literature
The Free Society of Lovers of Russian Literature (Russian: Вольное общество любителей российской словесности) was a literary association that existed from 1816 to 1825 in Saint Petersburg . The group was close to the Decembrists , its chairman from 1819 Fyodor Glinka . The group's writers included A. Alexander Bestuschew , his brother Nikolaj Bestuschew, Anton Delwig , Nikolaj Gneditsch, Alexander Gribojedow , Wilhelm Küchelbecker , Kondrati Rylejew and Orest Somow.
After the revolt of the Decembrists was suppressed, the association dissolved.
