The Freiherrnkrone in Germany , Austria , Russia and Poland is a golden, gem-studded headband with twelve pearl-studded teeth, seven of which are visible. Until 1806, the "old form" with five pearls and a string of pearls was used in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation .

The French barons crown , also used in Russia and Italy , is a golden hoop with no prongs wrapped in a string of pearls several times. The Swedish baron's crown has eight pearls, on which three more pearls rest in the middle and on the sides.
