The Masonic Lodge Ålesund is a lodge building of the Freemasons in the Norwegian city of Alesund . The Lodge St. Johanneslogen Regulus , which belongs to the Norwegian Order of Freemasons, is located in downtown Ålesund in Prestegata on the island of Aspøy .

Architecture and history

In 1919 it was decided to raise the existing connection to the full St. John's Lodge. A suitable room should be procured. For this purpose, the property that is today in 1921 was acquired.

The representative two-storey building was built in the years 1922/23 according to plans by the architect Jens Ludvig Paul Flor in the neoclassic style. The entrance is on the west side, is flanked by half columns and spanned by a triangular gable.

The interior design was designed by the architect Nils Ryjord . The inauguration of the building took place on January 26, 1924, the elevation to the independent lodge St. Johanneslogen Regulus on February 27, 1924. During the German occupation of Norway, the building was requisitioned from 1940 to 1945 by the occupying forces.
