Frente Democrático Salvadoreño

The Frente Democrático Salvadoreño (FDS) ( German : Salvadorian Democratic Front) was an association of democratic organizations in El Salvador founded in March 1980 .

At the FDS were u. a. the Movimiento Independiente de Profesionales y Técnicos de El Salvador , the Movimiento Popular Social Cristiano , the Movimiento Nacional Revolucionario , trade unions, the self-employed and a few military personnel. The later presidential candidate of the Unión Nacional Opositora , Ernesto Claramont , also belonged to the members of the FDS .

After only 17 days, the FDS merged with the Coordinadora Revolucionaria de Masa to form the Frente Democrático Revolucionario .
