Finkenriek cemetery
The Finkenriek cemetery is a municipal park cemetery on the Elbe island of Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg .

The cemetery is located in the south of the Elbe island and borders on the Süderelbe . It is protected by the Finkenrieker main dike. It is located near the A 1 motorway exit, Stillhorn.
layout
The cemetery was opened in 1957. The southern part of the old cemetery with the chapel and the northern part of the new cemetery are separated by the König-Georg-Deich road. On the bell tower of the chapel, a black metal relief commemorates the flood victims. The inscription reads: "In memory of all who lost their lives to save others - storm surge in February 1962" With 360 earth and urn burials and 8,500 grave sites, it is the largest cemetery on the Elbe island. In the north of the new part, in grave fields 25–27, there are the Muslim grave fields. The grave fields of the southern part are accessed through a west-east avenue, the grave fields of the northern part through a south-north axis.
