Friedrich Hieß (born April 14, 1954 in Asparn an der Zaya ) is a former Austrian football player in the position of defender .

Career

Friedrich Hieß began his football career at his hometown club ASV Asparn an der Zaya in Lower Austria, where he was called up for the Lower Austrian youth and junior team. At the age of 17 , Leopold Hofmann , who was the youth leader of First Vienna FC 1894 at the time , loaned him to the junior team for 1 year and also played in the Vienna junior team.

After the loan year he was permanently acquired by First Vienna FC 1894 (at that time in the 1st division, top division in Austria) where he won a regular place in the fighting team of the 1972/73 season and until the 1982/83 season Club remained loyal. (7 years 1st division and 4 years 2nd division)

In the 1976/77 season in the game against SK Sturm Graz on October 8, 1976, Hiess stretched his opponent Karl Hofmeister to the ground with a punch. Hiess was banned for one year on October 20, the ban was reduced to 20 games on December 14.

In the 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons he played at the former Bundesliga club of the 1st division Fav-AC where he ended his active time as a footballer and his career as a player or player-coach at some lower-class football clubs in Lower Austria (Tulln, Ullrichskirchen, Asparn / Zaya, Mistelbach) and Vienna (BSC, Elektra, NAC, WAF, Süssenbrunn).
