FuG (from 1945)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As FuG is called in Germany a Fu nk G et up instrument specifically due to a, requirement specification of an authority is built. This ensures that all participating companies bring a functionally identical device onto the market. Depending on the scope of the specification, various parameters can be prescribed, such as B. Frequency range, number of channels, modulation, power, mechanical design, type and location of the external connections, standard of the contacts, pin assignment, etc.

The use of FuG has the following advantages for the user:

  • guaranteed connection for all users (see fire in the Lüneburg Heath )
  • standardized operation, regardless of the manufacturer of the device
  • Interchangeability of devices
  • Interchangeability of accessories

It is the connection for meeting accessories. Their standardization according to the specification sheet results in a wide range of manufacturers. In the course of time, there have been technical developments: The well-known NATO plug was only introduced from the FuG-7a, previously mobile and backpack devices were equipped with FuG Wehrmacht plugs .

Remarks

  1. Equipment set was created from former US radios from the World War: BC-348 + BC-191 + TU-6B. Contrary to all other FuG the FuG 4 was not specially developed. In the course of demilitarization, only German labels were applied to US military equipment.
