Gérard du Cauzé de Nazelle

Gérard Marie René du Cauzé de Nazelle , also known as Gerard de Nazelle for short , is a French chemical engineer and manager and former director of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Life

Gérard de Nazelle studied chemical engineering at the Institut national polytechnique de Lorraine in Nancy . After completing his master's degree, he moved to the Technical University of Delft , where he received his doctorate in physics with a thesis on the thermal conductivity aging of polyurethane foams. He has been with Shell since 1990, for a long time in Asia, particularly in the area of petrochemical plants . Since 2007, de Nazelle has been active throughout the group for innovation and research with a focus on environmentally friendly technologies for sustainable energy management. In September 2009 he was appointed the EIT's first director. In August 2010, he resigned from this position and switched to the private sector.
