G35.20-0.74

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

G35.20-0.74 or G35 for short is one of the most massive protostars ever found. G35 is about 8000 light years from Earth and has 20 times the mass of our sun . The protostar is in an early development phase, which makes it interesting for research. In 2013, it was found that the formation of massive stars is easier than originally thought. It is also not like many other protostars, not embedded in a star cluster .
