The German HAWK Operations Center (GEHOC) was a combat command post for the HAWK anti-aircraft missile groups of the Air Force .

history

The HAWK (GEHOC) combat control system was developed by DASA and introduced to the Air Force in 1994. When the HAWK weapon system was decommissioned in 2005, the use of the GEHOC by the anti-aircraft missile units of the Bundeswehr ended .

tasks

The task of the GEHOC was to conduct and monitor the fire fighting of the fire units (FU) under it and to ensure the exchange of information both with the higher command post (Higher Echelon Unit, HEU) and with the subordinate units.

For this purpose, the GEHOC had:

  • to link information that is important for warfare and to compile it into a situation,
  • apply procedural identification procedures,
  • Conduct threat analysis, weapon allocation and combat surveillance.

The GEHOC was dependent on information that it received via data connections (Army Tactical Data Link (ATDL) -1, Link 11 B) or that was entered by the operator. The tasks of the GEHOC can be summarized as follows:

  • Data communication
  • Air situation creation
  • identification
  • Threat analysis
  • Weapon assignment
  • Control surveillance.
