Galactography

The Galactography ( Greek του γάλακτος tou Galaktos , German , from the milk ' and -grafie ) is a mammografisches additional method of expressing the milk ducts . For this purpose, a contrast agent is injected into the secreting milk duct with the help of a thin plastic tube and an X-ray is then taken . The test result is called a galactogram and shows intraductal changes.

Galactography is used to discover and localize a tumor or papilloma in the milk duct so that the change can be removed in a subsequent operation.

In addition, ductoscopy , a reflection of the milk ducts, is available at some centers .
