The brothers Anton and Josef Künzli had been working as art dealers in Zurich since the early 1880s. From 1892 they also called their company an art publisher . In 1897 they bought their entire range of postcards from the art institute Müller & Trüb, Aarau , including maps from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy and the Orient. The lithographs had been made in Aarau from their own watercolors since 1890, and Müller & Trüb continued to produce them under the new name Gebr. Künzli or Künzli frères .

In 1899 the brothers founded the A.-G. Postcard publisher Künzli . Its director was Carl Künzli-Tobler until 1903 . The company was dissolved in 1914. They also published postcards as Gebr. Künzli , Künzli frères , Fratelli Künzli and Künzli Brothers with various branches abroad. From 1901 to 1906 they also ran the Kunstanstalt Künzli AG in Zurich.

With the dissolution of A.-G. Postcard publishing house Künzli in 1914 the Künzli brothers ended the business with postcards. From then on, your art publisher limited itself to the reproduction of works of art. The sons and grandsons of Anton and Joseph Künzli continued to run the art publishing house until it was dissolved in 1965.
