List of hazardous substances

A list of hazardous substances provides an overview of the operation in a (analogously to school, office, pharmacy ...) used hazardous substances .

  • Germany: The obligation to keep a list of hazardous substances results from the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances and TRGS 400, Section 5.8.
  • In Austria the official name is: "Directory of dangerous working materials according to Doc-VO". The Doc-VO is the ordinance of the Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs on safety and health protection documents, Federal Law Gazette No. 478/1996 in the version of the Ordinance Federal Law Gazette II No. 53/1997 .
  • In Switzerland, the intercantonal guidelines on the storage of hazardous substances apply. The technical term here is "stock list" (Section 9.1, 5th paragraph).

To create a hazardous substance directory, it makes sense to use database software for which there are different adaptations depending on the area of activity (e.g. chemical collection in a school, material store in a pharmacy , a chemical-pharmaceutical company, ...). In all cases it is stipulated that the associated safety data sheets must be printed out or digitally at hand, that access to and storage of the hazardous substances directory / warehouse list must be agreed with the management and that it is ensured that in the event of an emergency or danger (theft, fire, sabotage ) Information can be given to the police and fire brigade.
