General Commission of the Syrian Revolution

The General Commission of the Syrian Revolution ( Arabic الهيئة العامة للثورة السورية, DMG al-haiʾa al-ʿāmma li-ṯ-ṯaura as-sūrīya , English Syrian Revolution General Commission , abbreviation SRGC ) is an alliance of more than 40 Syrian opposition groups who want to change the Syrian political system . She is in opposition to the Syrian government under Bashar al-Assad and supports the protests in Syria (since 2011) .

The General Commission of the Syrian Revolution was established on August 18, 2011 to unite the various opposition groups inside and outside Syria. It is unclear what relationships exist with the Syrian National Council , which was founded a few days later .

According to the first declaration of the General Commission of the Syrian Revolution, the long-term goal of the commission is to establish a democratic and civil state that guarantees its citizens freedom, equality, dignity and respect for all human rights.
