The Geoscientific Announcements are a series of publications by the Vienna University of Technology , in which scientific works from the fields of geodesy , geophysics , photogrammetry and cartography are published.

The series was founded in 1974 by Kurt Bretterbauer and expanded in the following years as a publication organ for the geosciences department . Around 2–5 volumes appear annually in an informal sequence, most of which are financed by the issuing institute or by third-party funds. 80 volumes had appeared by 2008, including around 50 dissertations and several post- doctoral theses , around 10 conference volumes (GeoLIS 1–3, ISPS, cartography, information days) and several commemorative publications (including Karl Neumaier, Kurt Bretterbauer and P. Waldhäusl).

Depending on the breadth of the topic, the print run is between about 100 and 500 copies and is also used for the international exchange of publications .
