Clamping plate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A clamping plate is used in rising ingot casting , on which a combination with at least one mold is filled with liquid steel from below.

Channels are embedded in the clamping plate, in which the liquid steel is distributed via refractory bricks.

All molds on a team are filled with liquid steel at the same time via a common funnel. The funnel stands on the fireproof Königstein. The liquid steel is transported over the channel stones to the end stone on which a mold stands.
