Global 500 Award

The Global 500 Award is a former environmental award that was founded in 1987 by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). It was awarded to individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to protecting and improving the environment. The Champions of Earth Award has been presented in place of this award since 2005 .
