Gloria CFR Arad was created in 1922 through the merger of the Gloria Arad association founded in 1913 and the CFR Arad association founded in 1921 . In the seasons 1922/23 and 1928/29 Gloria CFR was able to qualify for the finals of the Romanian Football Championship, but failed each in the quarterfinals. 1929/30 made the leap to the final, which was lost 3-0 to Juventus Bucharest . 1932 Gloria CFR was one of the 14 teams in the league operation of the newly established Divizia A participated. After the 1933/34 season , the merger between Gloria and CFR was resolved and the two clubs took part in the game again under their old names. Gloria Arad took the place of Gloria CFR Arad in Divizia A.
