Gockowice [ ɡɔʦkɔˈvʲiʦɛ ] ( German Götzendorf ) is a village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural municipality Chojnice (Konitz) in the powiat Chojnicki ( Konitz district ).
Geographical location and transport links
Gockowice is located 13 kilometers southeast of the city of Chojnice (Konitz) on the northwest bank of the Jezioro Gockowickie in the immediate vicinity of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian border . The village can be reached from Voivodship Road 240 via Silno (Frankenhagen) . A side road also leads from Raciąż via Wysoka (Wittstock) directly to Gockowice. Next stop is Silno on the railway line from Chojnice over Tuchola (Tuchel) by Działdowo (Soldau) .
history
The place was a manor district until 1908/10 and was then converted into a rural municipality . 1874, the village in the newly created was District Lottyn (: Lotyń today Polish) incorporated, which the district Konitz in marienwerder (Kwidzyn) in West Prussia belonged. Lottyn was also the seat of the responsible registry office , while the district court was in Konitz (Chojnice). From 1912 Sternau (Sternowo) was the seat of the administrative district. In 1920 Götzendorf came to Poland with the Konitz district until 1939, after which the village was first incorporated into the Konitz-Land district, and from 1944 into the Osterwick district (Ostrowite). As a result of the Second World War , Götzendorf was reassigned to Poland and was given the local language name "Gockowice". The village today is a village within the town building Chojnice (Konitz) within the same Powiat Chojnicki in the Pomeranian Province (1975 to 1998: Province Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) ).

Until 1920 and 1945 the Protestant church members in Götzendorf were parish in the parish of Rittel (today in Polish: Rytel). Today the place is in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Sępólno Krajeńskie (Zempelburg) , a branch of the parish in Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
