Green River is a light green, lime- flavored non-alcoholic beverage that originated in Chicago .

history

The drink produced by Schoenhofen Brewery appeared as a non-alcoholic drink during Prohibition in 1919 . It was a very popular soft drink until Prohibition ended in 1933 and its importance began to decline again. Since the Schoenhofen Brewery closed in 1950, the drink has been sold by the Clover Club Bottling Corp. manufactured.

Trivia

The Creedence Clearwater Revival song of the same name is inspired by the name of the drink.
