The Guerrero-Oaxaca earthquake of March 20, 2012, had a magnitude of 7.6 to 7.8 M W and hit southern Mexico at 12:02 local time (18:02 UTC).
The epicenter was 25 km east of Ometepec in Oaxaca near the border with Guerrero . It was the worst earthquake in Mexico since 1985. On April 2, there was no new damage in a 6.3 magnitude aftershock.
