Hammelsmarsch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hämmelsmarsch is an old Luxembourg tradition. The local music association moves through the community to invite people to the fair . He plays the "Hammelsmarsch" by Michel Lentz . In the past, sheep were taken along when moving - hence the name. Today the mutton has disappeared from the parades practically everywhere.

The Hämmelsmarsch is an important source of income for many music associations, as donations are collected for the association when they move.
