The shipping company was founded on April 22nd, 1886 by Johann Heinrich Vogemann in Hamburg.
The company is essentially divided into two branches and a joint venture:
- The shipping company handles the commercial operation of the dry freighters, the purchase and sale of ships, project development and ship financing
- The chartering and broker company for the chartering brokerage business for dry bulk goods and related services
- In addition, there has been a joint venture for the technical management of bulk ships with Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg, since 2017
The Vogemann fleet employs around 15 bulk carriers with a total load capacity of around one million tons. The shipping fleet consists of bulk carriers of the sizes Panamax and Handymax with a load capacity between almost 24,000 and around 80,000 tons. In addition, two product tankers are employed.
