Controversy

On December 27, 2019, a visitor was allegedly raped at the after-show party after an appearance by the collective in the Conne Island cultural center in Leipzig . According to the police and prosecutor, the alleged perpetrator was a band member. The group emphasized, however, that the accused had been hired as a lighting technician or decorator and that he was not a permanent member of the band; she expressed regret about the incident in several statements on Facebook. The Conne Island contradicted this representation and stated that the alleged perpetrator had been introduced to the cultural center as a member of the collective and was present on stage during the entire performance. He was taken into custody.
