HMAS Tobruk
HMAS Tobruk is the name of several ships in the Royal Australian Navy . The name is derived from the siege of Tobruk during World War II, during which Australian troops withstood the attacks of the Axis powers for several months in 1941. The name was previously given to the following ships:
- HMAS Tobruk (D37) , destroyer, in service from 1947 to 1960
- HMAS Tobruk (L 50) , landing ship, in service from 1981 to 2015
