Around 1987 the idea of technical training in the Schärding district arose. 2000–2002 an approval procedure for the HTL Innviertel Nord in Andorf - specializing in materials engineering with a focus on plastics and environmental technology was selected by LSI DI Werner Tippelt and Councilor Johannes Schrattenecker. The school started in the 2002/03 school year with a first class of 32 students and the old elementary school in Andorf. The workshops are run with generous support from LH Dr. Josef Pühringer set up for the start-up phase. Most of the workshop instruction is carried out in the vocational school in Schärding and in the agricultural college in Otterbach. In the following years the school is expanded every year. In 2017 the name was changed to "Andorf Technology School"; In 2018 the school is to be expanded to include a further branch with a focus on product design .
