Lists on the subject

The Haenel model 303 is an air rifle made by VEB Fahrzeug- und Jagdwaffenwerk "Ernst Thälmann" (FAJAS) from Suhl. After 1989 production was continued by Jagd- und Sportwaffen Suhl GmbH.

development

The model 303 is a further development of the model series III, the "large" model series. The outer case diameter, which was reduced from 32 to 30 mm for the model 302 in the course of creating a standard air rifle, was retained; the sleeve length has been reduced from 346 mm to a value of 306 mm similar to model III (last type III-284: 285 mm). The side slide lock had already been replaced in the model 302 by a central slide lock with a plastic push button at the end of the sleeve.

description

Haenel-Pfeil and Suhl weapon smith (here on a LG III-284)

The model 303 is a break barrel air rifle with a rifled barrel in caliber 4.5 mm. It fires diabolo ammunition . The energy storage system is a percussion spring compressor that is tensioned by the tilt barrel. The cocking process activates the safety device, which must be released before the shot. Diabolog bullets with a caliber of 4.5 mm achieve a v 0 of 175 m / s.

Air rifles of the model group 303 are marked with the Haenel arrow, the Suhl weapon smith, the model name and the serial number; partly also marked with Made in GDR, caliber 4.5 or 5.6 mm.

variants

The model 303 was produced in several model variants, which differed in details such as the sights or stocks. For export it was also made in caliber 5.5 mm. The bottom of the shaft had milled grooves opposite the steel plate of the previous models.
