Part-time work

The part-time job is a working time model and represents the most well-known model of part-time work . The working hours of the employee is then usually reduced by half and usually provided five days a week in the morning or afternoon.

In order to work part-time, a position with a reduced workload is required. If this is not the case, two part-time workers must do the job. This requires good communication between employees and they have to get along well with each other. Problems can arise if one of the employees leaves the company .

With this model, the employee can go to work with greater concentration since the workload is lower. If part-time work is only limited to the morning, the employee can, for example, take good care of school-age children.

In practice, the staffing of the afternoon shift and the rigid structure are problematic.
