Hello Germany (musical)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello Germany is a music revue. The "Platzkonzert von Franz Wittenbrink " premiered on March 29, 2008 in the Schauspielhaus Hannover .

content

A new monument in the suburbs, the “Well of Integration”, is inaugurated. A politician expresses her hope for the merging of Christians and Muslims, fortunately a brook dancer booked for the event does not appear. The actual heroes of the play appear later, migrant youth from the lower classes. With one step the monument becomes a mosque-like structure. The story ends in the portrayal of the problems of the Muslim minority in Germany.

Musical style

Musically, the revue - this is new at Wittenbrink - is dominated by rap.

Others

Originally Wittenbrink wanted to write his musical together with Feridun Zaimoglu , but the deadline failed. A monologue for the devil, however, comes from the Kiel writer: “a virtuoso orchestrated speaking piece that gives“ Hallo Deutschland ”a little of the whispering depth that the subject suggests” (Stefan Arndt, Neue Presse).

The premiere was recorded with “Jubelstürmen” (Hamburger Abendblatt).
