Hana-Matsuri
Hana-Matsuri ( Japanese花祭, 花祭 り; in English "Flower Festival") is the name of a series of festivals ( Matsuri ) in Japan.
It is usually used to describe the Buddhist festival on Buddha's birthday on April 8th, see Kanbutsue . The term " Hana-Matsuri " goes back to the use in the Jōdo-shū .
In about a dozen Japanese cities, a festival is held annually, which is also known as Hana-Matsuri , but is a Shinto festival.
