Hand game (card game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term hand game is used in various card games in relation to the hand (the hand).

Skat

In Skat it describes a game in which the single player does not pick up the two cards he is entitled to (the so-called “Skat” or “Stick”) and only plays with his hand cards. A hand game is more daring and is therefore valued higher than a normal game.

Rummy

Also Rummy knows hand games (also known as hand-Rummy). A hand game here refers to the laying out of all cards in a player's hand in one fell swoop. The usual 40-point rule can also be neglected here. The negative points of the opponents are doubled in this case. The advantage here is that you don't offer your fellow players any opportunities to invest. The disadvantage is that if you lose a game you get a lot of minus points written down.

bridge

In bridge , the hand game refers to the game of the declarer who also uses the hand of his partner that is open on the table.
