Hashimoto's encephalopathy

The Hashimoto's encephalopathy (HE), and steroid responsive encephalopathy associated with autoimmune thyroiditis called (SREAT), is a disease that numerous psychiatric and neurological associated symptoms. It was first described in 1966 by Walter Russell Brain, 1st Baron Brain. The symptoms range from mild cognitive impairment to status epilepticus . Patients show personality changes such as confusion , cognitive impairment, amnesia , ataxia , seizures, myoclonus and psychiatric symptoms such as hallucinations , delusions and depression .
