The House of Téllez-Girón has been one of the leading noble families in Spain since the end of the Middle Ages . The line included the Dukes of Osuna , the Margraves of Peñafiel and the Counts of Ureña and only went out in 2015 with the death of Ángela Téllez-Girón.

history

The Téllez-Girón house was created when María Téllez de Meneses married Gonzalo Ruiz Girón around the year 1300 . The marriage had at least three children, the most important of which was Don Juan Alonso Girón, born in 1305 .

  • Mariano Téllez-Girón (1814–1882), 12th Duke of Osuna
