Hazel Riley (* in Gateshead ) is a British author .

Life

Hazel Riley studied English literature at the University of York . She then moved to London , where she teaches scientific work and study preparation methods at a college .

Together with Myrna Shoa she writes books for beginners for Gatehouse Books. The series is called From the Heart Series . Hazel Riley is best known for her two novels. Her first novel, Thanis , was published by Oxford University Press in 2000 . He was nominated for the Angus Book Award and the Branford Boase Award in 2001. A German translation by Thanis was published by Altberliner Verlag in 2001 under the same title in a translation by Michaela Kolodsziejcok . In 2002 her second novel, The Crying , was also published by Oxford University Press. The German translation was published by Baumhaus-Verlag in 2003 under the title The Secret of the Chamber . Michaela Kolodsziejcok also took care of the German translation.
