Helene Williams

Helene Williams-Spierman is an American singer.

Williams founded the Bronx Opera with her then-husband Michael Spierman , where she met Leonard Lehrman in 1976 . She made a name for herself as a concert and opera singer and received the title role in Lehrman's Musical EG: A Musical Portrait of Emma Goldman in 1987 , with which she appeared in North and Latin America, Europe, Israel and Australia. After years of collaboration (including the musicals New World and Superspy !: The Secret Musical ), she married Lehrman in 2002.

With Lehrman she founded Court Street Music in Valley Stream, Long Island, and the Opera / Musical Theater Special Interest Group of The Naturist Society . She also teaches at Queensborough Community College (Accent Reduction In English Speech) and City College of New York (Drama). As a singer, she was a finalist in the Artists International Competition and winner of the Bronx Council on the Arts Award . Recordings of her appeared on the labels Capstone , Opus One , Premier and Original Cast Records .
