Henrietta Holsman Fore (* 1948 ) is an American official of the United Nations and has been the Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) since January 1, 2018 .

Henrietta H. Fore studied history at Wellesley College , graduating with a Bachelor of Arts . She then did a Master of Science degree in Public Administration at the University of Northern Colorado . In 1989 she started as Assistant Administrator for Asia at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, DC, where she worked until 1993.

From 2001 to 2005 she worked for the United States Mint , from 2005 to 2007 at the US State Department . As an undersecretary , she was responsible for a budget of 3.6 billion dollars. In 2007 she moved back to USAID and also became Director of the United States Foreign Assistance . In the meantime she also worked in the private sector. On January 1, 2018, she took over the leadership of the United Nations Children's Fund as the seventh Executive Director.

Fore is married and has four children.
