Lords of Neudeck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lords of Neudeck were a medieval noble family with ancestral seat at Neudeck Castle in Neudeck .

history

The family, which also appeared in documents as Neydeck, Nydeck, Nidek, Nidekke and Nidecge, came from the servitude of the Counts of Löwenstein and is first mentioned in 1215 with an Engelhard von Neudeck. The same or another Engelhard is mentioned in several documents up to 1259. A Heinrich von Neudeck was a witness of the brothers Gottfried and Konrad von Hohenlohe in 1232 at the foundation of the Frauental monastery . The Neudecker owned the Neudeck Castle in Neudeck , which also included Beutingen and the town of Weyer, which was opened in Langenbeutingen. The decline of the Neudeckers began as early as the 14th century when they gradually sold their possessions, mostly to the Lords of Hohenlohe. In 1326 Engelhard von Neudeck sold part of the castle and village of Neudeck to Konrad von Helmstatt, and another part to Kraft von Hohenlohe in 1330. In 1332 and 1334 further shares were sold to Neudeck, Beutingen and Weyer. In 1341 Hermann von Neudeck sold goods and rights in Baumerlenbach to Hohenlohe. In the same year a Hermann von Neudeck von Maienfels called himself . In 1425 Hans von Neudeck sold another part of Beutingen, including the church set, to Hohenlohe. In the 15th century, the Neudeck seem to have merged into the middle-class families in Öhringen , where in 1420 the siblings Hans and Anna von Neudeck bequeathed a riding court to the Öhringen monastery . The last member of the family, a Sigmund von Neudeck, committed suicide in 1588.
