The rule of Ochsenstein , older Ossenstein , was a knightly territory of the Holy Roman Empire in Lower Alsace and included Ochsenstein Castle near Reinhardsmünster with a number of Alsatian towns. From the 13th to the 15th century in the possession of the Lords of Ochsenstein , the rule fell in 1485 with the extinction of the family on Zweibrücken-Bitsch .

In 1485 the rule fell to Zweibrücken-Bitsch , in 1570 with Zweibrücken-Bitsch to the county of Hanau-Lichtenberg .

The rule Ochsenstein included besides the castle Ochsenstein with the Meierhof Haberacker
- four villages in total , namely Allenweiler , Furchhausen , Reinhardsmünster (formerly Tillersmünster ), Wolschheim
- half in six villages of Griesbach, Gumpertshofen, Niederbronn, Niedermodern, Oberbronn, Pfaffenhofen
- Shares in the Mark Maursmünster with eight associated villages, in addition to the Bailiwick of the Maursmünster Monastery
- from the active loan and vassals z. B. the Rathsamhausen , which carried five villages as fiefs.
