Hesse (organ builder)
Hesse is the name of an important family of organ builders from Dachwig near Gotha .
The professional founder of the dynasty was Johann Michael Hesse (1734-1810), ancestor of the organ building family.

- Ludwig Julius Hesse (1830–1900), son of Johann Michael Hesse II. Julius was the last organ builder in the family. In 1858 he took over the workshop from his father. Moved to St. Petersburg in 1862 after a failed reconstruction of the Wender organ in the Arnstadt Bach Church.
