description

High Corrie is located on the flat slopes of Am Binnein above the coastal town of Corrie. It is accessible via a small road that branches off the A841 on the southern edge of Corrie . The nucleus of the settlement probably originated in the 18th century, with the majority of the seven buildings dating from the 18th century. Typical for this type of settlement is the closely spaced buildings, but without a regular arrangement. The masonry consists of quarry stone and is externally limed. The buildings are equipped with lattice windows and partly close with gable roofs . The houses are used without exception, but most of them are only inhabited temporarily as holiday homes.
