Helping spirit
A fellow spirit or ally is a figure of shamanism . In Asia and America it is mostly an animal. However, the ally can also take the form of a human, a hybrid, or (rarely) a plant.
“Towards the end of the thirty days, a helping spirit in the form of a woman came to him (Igjugarjuk, Greenland). It came while he was sleeping and seemed to float in the air above him. After that he no longer dreamed of her, but instead she became his helping spirit. "

Other types of auxiliary spirit also exist in mysticism, as well as among the Rosicrucians and Freemasonry .
For Alcoholics Anonymous there is a higher power that is mostly experienced as a personal higher power and is therefore similar to a guardian angel or helping spirit.
