Back brick is the colloquial term for brick that is used in load-bearing masonry. The back masonry is usually clad with plaster , planking, ETICS and is therefore not visible in the finished state.

No special requirements are placed on the appearance of these stones. The back masonry is the supporting shell and must therefore ensure stability in particular, but also fire protection and noise protection.

Backing bricks can remain visible in the interior or can be painted to cover them if there are only few requirements in terms of appearance and design. This inexpensive type of construction is particularly found in utility basements or subordinate rooms. Optical impairments, such as B. chipped edges or color differences are accepted.

The use of facing bricks is recommended for higher requirements .
