Hirnkirchen is a former municipality in the northern district of Freising . The place is in the southern Hallertau , the most important hop-growing area in Germany, in the valley of the Abens , about 20 kilometers north of the district town Freising . Hirnkirchen has been part of the market in Au idHallertau since 1978 . The place has 95 inhabitants.

history

The village is first mentioned in the year 994 as Heripirgachiricha . Since 1260, Hirnkirchen was the seat of a closed Hofmark owned by the Auer. In 1565 the Au dominion acquired the Hofmark and the associated goods from the owner at the time, Sebastian von Kreitt zu Straß and Velden .

In the course of the formation of the community after the second community edict, the Patrimonial Court of Hirnkirchen became an independent rural community in 1818. In addition to the church village, the districts Kranzberg and Grubanger also belonged to the community. It was not until the 19th century that the Neuhub wasteland emerged in the municipality.

With the municipality reform , Hirnkirchen merged with the municipality of Hemhausen on January 1, 1971 to form the new municipality of Abens . After this community was dissolved, Hirnkirchen became a district of Au in der Hallertau on May 1, 1978.
