Hisham Genena

Hisham Genena ( Arabic هشام جنينة; also transcribed Geneina ) is an Egyptian judge.

From 2012 Genena was responsible for the fight against corruption in Egypt. He was removed from office under President Abd al-Fattah as-Sisi in March 2016 and sentenced a few months later for spreading false news. He is considered the leading head of the opposition. On January 27, 2018, he was seriously injured in a robbery. The attack is believed to be related to the upcoming presidential elections in Egypt .
