Hito Esmeralda

The point Hito Esmeralda (Spanish "hito" boundary stone, "esmeralda" emerald colored) marks the triangle in South America , where the borders of Argentina , Bolivia and Paraguay converge. Hito Esmeralda is located at an altitude of about 200  m , 8 km northeast of the village of Santa Victoria and 8 km north of the Misión La Merced .

The point is crossed by the Pilcomayo River, which, coming from Bolivia, continues to flow from here through the Gran Chaco in a south-easterly direction.
