Ramp-function generator
A ramp function generator is a functionality that is used in electrical generators or electrical motors. With the ramp-function generator, it is possible to limit a sudden change in the setpoint of the acceleration so that load surges that could damage the electrical machine are avoided. It is possible to specify a ramp-up and ramp-down time. These values are calculated using the maximum speed from the parameter list. Some ramp-function generators also have the option of a so-called quick stop, which z. B. comes to a quick, guided standstill after pressing an emergency stop switch .
implementation
Originally, ramp-function generators were implemented with analog hardware. Nowadays the functionality is mostly implemented using software.
