The Hof zu Leuzendorf was a Graz noble farm located on Babenbergerstraße. Its history dates back to the 14th century. In its place there are now residential houses.

history

The Edelhof was owned by the Lords of Walsee at the beginning of the 14th century . After the Styrian line of the noble family died out, the properties went to the sovereigns and were assigned to the Graz Hubamt and the Gösting rule. In 1531 the farm was an interest-bearing farm. On May 10, 1531, the court and a castle keep, which had been removed from the Gösting rule, were awarded to Seifried von Windischgrätz. Shortly afterwards the farm went to Thomas Wenger, the manager of Gösting. On March 30, 1553, he sold the estate to the master baker Kaspar Winkler. In 1570 the administrator of the Gösting estate, Leopold Staudinger, acquired the estate of Winkler's widow. Staudinger in turn sold the property in 1577 to Katharina, the widow of Count Jakob von Montfort. In 1599 the farm was bought by the Graz Jesuits .

Next to the Edelhof was a second farm, which was owned by the Ratmannsdorfer until the 15th century. In 1600 Otto von Ratmannsdorf sold this farm to the Graz Jesuits. The two farms were combined by the Jesuits to form a large property in Leuzendorf. Among other things, the task of maintaining the bridge over the Mühlgang was a burden on this rule .

After the Jesuit order was dissolved in 1773, the property passed into state rule. The manor house went to Elisabeth Schikhoferin in 1782 and the estate to Franz Sales Praunegger in 1805. In the following years, parts of the rule were repeatedly sold until it was finally dissolved completely. Residential houses were built on the grounds of the former rule.
