Holger A. Dux

Holger Albert Matthias Dux (* 23. April 1958 in Koenigswinter ) is a German construction historian and author of historical publications locally to the regions of Aachen and Cologne .

Life

As the son of the electrical engineer Joseph Dux and the commercial clerk Cäcilia Maria geb. Ried born Holger A. Dux attended from 1965 to 1968, the Catholic elementary school in Niederdollendorf and then through to completing the baccalaureate in 1977, the private Ernst Kalkuhl-Gymnasium in Oberkassel . After completing basic military service with a telecommunications unit of the German Armed Forces in Rheinbach , he began to study architecture at RWTH Aachen University in 1978 , which he completed in 1987 with a diploma. Until 1992 he did his doctorate at the RWTH Aachen in the subject of building history with Ingeborg Schild with a dissertation on the Cologne architect Heinrich Nagelschmidt as a doctoral engineer . Co-referee was Günter Urban .

Initially working as a graphic designer for a company in Aachen, Holger A. Dux has been working as an educational assistant at the Volkshochschule Aachen since his doctorate , publishes numerous publications and essays, organizes guided tours and lectures in the northern Rhineland and neighboring countries on historical and urban history topics and is involved in various Associations and committees, including the Rhenish Association for Monument Preservation and Landscape Protection .
